Silent Book Club

Wouldn't it be great to have a book club where you could just enjoy books, friends, and drinks—without any homework?
At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading! All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. SBC is a free event and supports local businesses. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, order food or drinks, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour or so of sustained silent reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!
Silent Book Club is about community. Everyone is welcome, and anyone can join!

Sound Frequencies Sound Bath

Join us for a relaxing sound meditation class. Using crystal singing bowls for deep relaxation, stress relief, and spiritual growth, you will leave each session with a new sense and relaxation
What to Expect:
Immersive Experience: Uses instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes to create a sonic soundscape.
You can choose to lie down or sit if you prefer. Bring a yoga mat and blanket. A pillow and eye mask are optional but may make you more comfortable. prefer to lay down.
*Please arrive at 6:45 pm to set up your space and get comfortable.
Eat the Neighborhood: Foraging Tour & Dinner
August 22nd- 4pm - 7pm
106 S Emerson, Mt. Prospect
An edible plant/mushroom foraging walk around the neighborhood followed by a foraged meal.
Forage with Chicago's renowned professional forager Dave Odd. Learn over 50 species of edible plants and possibly mushrooms too! Followed by a wonderful multi course meal made from the foraged things seen on the tour marvelously prepared at Khepri Cafe.

Join us for an in-depth sourdough class for any level! This class will cover how to feed and care for your sourdough starter, learn all the steps of sourdough bread making, and discover new ways to use all that starter. During this class, you will sample sourdough bread, scones, holiday desserts and focaccia. Leave with a starter, recipe cards and the confidence to make your own sourdough goods!
